Jody Mulgrew - 6PM

San Luis Obispo California 93401
USA 805-547-0278
Price: suggested donation of $15

Jody Mulgrew brings his unique vision of Americana back to Central Coast.

Jody Mulgrew has been writing songs and making records for almost a decade now. The most recent, Let Them Talk, was recorded with his band the Skeleton Crew and was named Best Album at the 2014 New Times Music Awards.

He's been calling Nashville home lately, though the Central Coast keeps pulling him back through on a regular basis. On one recent trip back across the country, he stopped by Durango, CO to visit friend and co-writer Bob Rea, with whom Mulgrew plans to tour through California in 2015.

I had planned to stay in Durango one night, do an early morning writing session with Bob, say our goodbyes and be on our way,” says Mulgrew. “When we departed Durango, we made it two miles out of town before the clutch in my friend’s car went out. We ended up spending a week in Durango waiting on repairs.

"My songwriting partner and I got a bunch of songs written in that time. Funny thing: that wasn't the first time that an automobile breakdown led to a Bob-Jody writing marathon. A few years back it was a fuel pump in Buellton, and we ended up writing one of my favorite songs and a couple that made it onto my last two albums."

You can be sure that Jody Mulgrew will play some of those new ones, old favorites and tell the stories behind the songs at Sunday night's concert at the intimate Steynberg Gallery.

See Jody Mulgrew at Steynberg Gallery,1531 Monterey St, San Luis Obispo at 6PM on Sunday November 2nd.

$15 suggested donation for the artists. Seating is Limited. Call 805-547-0278 for reservation and ticket information.
